Position: Search Analyst
Salary: Competitive and dependant on experience
Location:  Central London

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Search Analyst to work at our Central London offices.  The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and auditing search accounts from a configuration, campaign performance and tracking perspective.  The role will also include strategic input into the ongoing management of client search campaigns. This is a client facing role and candidates should be keen to take responsibility for all aspects of a client campaign and manage internal resources to achieve results. Candidates should also self-motivated, able to work as part of a team or remotely with team members located in different offices and time zones.

Main responsibilities

  • Managing client relationships and help drive innovation in terms of technical and strategic approach to search analysis, with particular focus on performance measurement, analysis and optimisation
  • Managing an in-house SEO/PPC team as well as in-house and external copywriters
  • Day-to-day management of client accounts using numerous channels of communication such as telephone, email, Skype, face-to-face meetings
  • Troubleshooting tracking issues and data inconsistencies
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Project and time-management – an initiative to manage projects and your own time efficiently
  • Regularly reporting activity and client account performance to senior management
  • Providing recommendations and devising strategies for campaign structuring, keyword opportunities, audience targeting, automated bidding and use of display networks
  • Devising, managing and monitoring landing page optimisation strategies to align campaign performance with client objectives
  • Forecasting traffic volumes and potential ROI for new business opportunities and for existing clients considering a change in budget or strategy
  • Defining KPIs and appropriate measurement strategies and producing and delivering high impact performance reports for clients and potential clients
  • Driving innovation in terms of our technical and strategic approach to paid search, with particular focus on performance measurement, analysis and optimisation
  • Proactively engaging with and contributing to the presentation process for potential clients
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry advances, new processes and resolutions to common account/tracking issues within search discipline

Key skills and experience

  • Knowledge of both SEO and PPC
  • Ability to effectively train, manage and mentor staff
  • An in-depth understanding of link building techniques, identifying sub-standard links and creation of effective link building methodologies
  • Experience of working with analytical software (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Log Files), data processing, and excellent knowledge of Word and Excel
  • An analytical approach to problem solving, using multiple data sources such as Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Log Files and have a proven track record in diagnosing faults with websites
  • In-depth knowledge of natural search algorithms
  • Appreciation of Content management Systems (CMS) and dynamic URLs
  • Proven experience of demonstrating and improving ROI on client accounts
  • Experience of using Adwords Conversion Optimizer for improving budget efficiency and landing page optimisation using Google Website Optimiser or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of website build such as HTML, PHP, ASP, JavaScript
  • Experience of planning and managing social media advertising campaigns, with particular focus on Facebook (desirable, not essential)
  • Understanding of (or passion to learn about) conversion rate optimisation
  • Enthusiastic and driven, with meticulous attention to detail and overall passion for excellence
  • Innovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to relay complex and analytical information to internal and external stakeholders with various levels of digital knowledge and at all levels of seniority
  • Credible and articulate, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills both client facing and internally
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively, as well as ensuring  key deliverables are meet
  • Ability and eagerness to pass on knowledge to other team members
  • Ability to define and develop improved working practices
  • Logical and methodical, with a calm and structured approach under pressure
  • Reliable, flexible and co-operative
